<p class="MsoNormal">Last year I decided that a family member
was just too toxic, honestly, this person is NOT a nice person, in my opinion - plus I
cut back on my interactions with few of my siblings and a few friends.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">What brought me to this decision? <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I reflected on my growth in “life” the past
few years. The cruelty, mean spiritedness of my “family” was just downright
hateful. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Oh yeah, my family LOVES to trash
certain members of the family, I believe it gives them pleasure! – HOW AWFUL! <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Why did I allow myself to put up with their negative verbal assaults
and negative commentary of me for so long? Not sure?<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> I finally confronted a family member; wow was she defensive. It felt so good to say, "you can't talk about me that way, you lied".</span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">I feel no need to rehash their ugliness. I am in a good
place – forgiveness given; forgiveness does not mean you are open to continual
abuse and continual negative commentary spoken about you!<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span><b><i>This is important for those who are and
have been verbally abused to understand.<o:p></o:p></i></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">I am posting this because I feel that someone, somewhere
needs to know they are valued, important and worthy, sure we make mistakes –
but NO ONE needs to have their own siblings and friends continue to lie about us and
say negative things!<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal">In my case I have always been an independent person, not agreeing with my family and what “they” say or “think” makes you an enemy! This behavior came from a place of their parental upbringing – I was fortunate in my early teens - I met a lovely Christian family that gave me hope, guidance and love - the cycle was broke with me.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9QKMJucaB3htUFUlkRnOBZyCOuO9_LnkNvfFvj5ADgiOeAOOSzxVhV2_SIOuTdPBm_XzW_s1b3ri8aZ5GEEvf92ZS7YvlHy1gyAktARV26eC3K7LDaY_bleobzWhCjQGYK54RAvD9NxLaxE49aAiPKf-0wQ1-oSr5tzvjMO4HxaPJma6Ggu6co0Sghkc/s4608/Pink%20Pastel%20Gradient%20Feminine%20Inspirational%20Affirmation%20Quote%20Poster.png" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><br /></a></div></div><p class="MsoNormal"> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0X6HHKAxo0WrdyBDLUZ6y1-wfzqqcvhS2PYZCnrqpb9_EjDh1IdceCrbrGQDx_bgb7SuyPbMi6f8MITKsXVwiilwin8vEwqub2h2rrwJ05h5o7Ufs06lXYASlysd5pbKlwC6mAkS040dYrVyGRIeDVsEwlgYCuGDhY8VTcxKTpq7GIecWIEiI4cWMZNw/s4608/Pink%20Pastel%20Gradient%20Feminine%20Inspirational%20Affirmation%20Quote%20Poster.png" style="font-style: italic; margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4608" data-original-width="3456" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0X6HHKAxo0WrdyBDLUZ6y1-wfzqqcvhS2PYZCnrqpb9_EjDh1IdceCrbrGQDx_bgb7SuyPbMi6f8MITKsXVwiilwin8vEwqub2h2rrwJ05h5o7Ufs06lXYASlysd5pbKlwC6mAkS040dYrVyGRIeDVsEwlgYCuGDhY8VTcxKTpq7GIecWIEiI4cWMZNw/s320/Pink%20Pastel%20Gradient%20Feminine%20Inspirational%20Affirmation%20Quote%20Poster.png" width="240" /></a> <i><b>Never underestimate the power of a kind word </b></i></p><div><i><b> It can heal the deepest wounds! </b></i><i><b>🩷</b></i><div><i><b> </b></i></div><div><i><b><br /></b></i></div><div><i><b><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8FVAzKHrN_26Ui8jr_SK1HFwR2YswEp39TPqgL21IqrYAvkNaoIPSiGD4Cg-xA10WcdCZ5J492KC47NM81oKkcg1wmlgj5CIlTSi3TgzHry3WbtBHWvhgqkLQ5TUCLtR78xmsPtL-4S5VAXYiStxt0bjB_VzcuNFkTzbHJ-19o9l_M3uXjTgon6SulZ0/s1920/Green%20and%20Orange%20Flowers%20Cute%20&%20Cheeky%20Curved%20Motivation%20Text%20Phone%20Wallpaper.png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1920" data-original-width="1080" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8FVAzKHrN_26Ui8jr_SK1HFwR2YswEp39TPqgL21IqrYAvkNaoIPSiGD4Cg-xA10WcdCZ5J492KC47NM81oKkcg1wmlgj5CIlTSi3TgzHry3WbtBHWvhgqkLQ5TUCLtR78xmsPtL-4S5VAXYiStxt0bjB_VzcuNFkTzbHJ-19o9l_M3uXjTgon6SulZ0/s320/Green%20and%20Orange%20Flowers%20Cute%20&%20Cheeky%20Curved%20Motivation%20Text%20Phone%20Wallpaper.png" width="180" /></a></div></b></i><div><div><i><b> </b></i><i><b> </b></i><i><b><br /></b></i><blockquote style="border: medium; margin: 0px 0px 0px 40px; padding: 0px;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div></blockquote><br /><p class="MsoNormal"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal"><o:p></o:p></p>

The idea was to cultivate bees for honey & wax (wax to use in our planned apothecary); raise turkeys for meat profit, sell eggs (chickens, & duck) We recently ordered 65 pullets & we’re so excited to have them join our farm this July, we currently have 30 - We plan to add much more next year! 2024!! </p><p>Some Newbies asked me "How do you store your fresh eggs?" well, it depends, many in my community don't want "washed eggs" - I accommodate those that don't want "washed eggs, I always Identify the eggs that are NOT WASHED on the label...everyone else gets washed eggs! </p><p>I found this bowl at a antique store, I think it was originally used for making bread - not sure? - This bowl can handle my eggs. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglgW04nhIMlUzvMEJrFeUhLdUVR5EqsOXQbMK8CY3rfhtiEGcA7nf_uibUuP6l8hmoc3NfPV1DSgQjVI0bj3shEgL2wuYq8wrKlLeUP_DE3ZGvLaKJ8QkmvAn9PyRZQyiKEvy9ZMjv0KLGj7tym-igNcDlY02aHao2mT7MxgX8UUf1JHf8CMXzT33D/s4032/3D1CEF81-E204-4A92-9652-323104DF262A%20(1).jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglgW04nhIMlUzvMEJrFeUhLdUVR5EqsOXQbMK8CY3rfhtiEGcA7nf_uibUuP6l8hmoc3NfPV1DSgQjVI0bj3shEgL2wuYq8wrKlLeUP_DE3ZGvLaKJ8QkmvAn9PyRZQyiKEvy9ZMjv0KLGj7tym-igNcDlY02aHao2mT7MxgX8UUf1JHf8CMXzT33D/s320/3D1CEF81-E204-4A92-9652-323104DF262A%20(1).jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /> </div>My favorite niece brought me a little spiral egg keeper! I won't disparage the brands that disappointed me but I will say that a shopping trip to ALDI - provided me the best ever slip-on/slip-off Farm Boots & I did not have to spend a fortune, actually, I spent a whopping 17.99 for the boots you see below👇. <span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Speaking from experience, I can say that moving from coast to coast is more difficult for older adults, making friends takes emotional, and sometimes physical effort, as I have aged, making those efforts became harder to pull off. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">It is important to know friends can always be made, just be one!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">As I prepare to move away from my home of 14+ years, I take with me valuable lessons. I had more than a difficult time "<i>fitting in"</i> when I came to Virginia, this was not the case for the first year I lived in Maryland, my new friendships flourished, I thrived, I was happy. Moving & living in Virginia brought me to my lowest point of unhappiness ever in my life, I survived, learned and grew.</span><br />

<ul>
<li><span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Don’t be shy. Take the initiative and introduce yourself to your new neighbors right after you move in.</span></li>
</ul>
<span style="color: #cc0000; font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">2. Just Say Yes.</span><br />
<ul>
<li><span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Say yes to any and all invitations and opportunities in your new city.</span><span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: small;"> </span></span></li>
</ul>
<span style="color: #cc0000; font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">3. Volunteer in your community. </span><br />
<span style="color: #cc0000; font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-weight: normal;"><i> *best thing I did, met many a wonderful gal pal!</i></span></span><br />
<ul>
<li><span style="color: #1b1b1b; font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Seek and search out how you can help your community, work in a food bank, find a senior in a nursing home, read to children, become a big sister or brother.</span></li>
</ul>
<span style="color: #cc0000; font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">4. My Tips </span><br />
<ul>
<li><span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Don't expect all to fall in line immediately, the 'right' person will show up!</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Join an online group such as "Meetup" - </span><i style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">https://www.meetup.com</i><span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"> (you will find in App store) I found some groups that hike and go out for group functions, even have a yoga meet up!</span></span></li>
</ul>
<span style="color: #1b1b1b; font-size: 1.25em;">A Nancy Story: </span><br />
<span style="color: #1b1b1b; font-size: 1.25em;"><br /></span>
<span style="caret-color: rgb(118, 118, 118); font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">When I was recovering from my knee surgery, I was advised to take an aqua swim class, my first day in the pool, I was so excited and encouraged, as I was standing at the end of the pool, this older lady came up to me and told me I was in 'her' spot, I look around, and my first thought was "really" <b>Grandma Gangster, </b>this is a public pool! </span><br />
<span style="caret-color: rgb(118, 118, 118); font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="caret-color: rgb(118, 118, 118); font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Without saying anything, I did move over, the Gangster Grandma Group later that morning did invite me to the hot tub </span><span style="caret-color: rgb(118, 118, 118); font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">and lunch after our</span><span style="caret-color: rgb(118, 118, 118); font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"> swim, I fielded a few questions from the Gangsters. (lol) I still see them from time to time.</span><br />
<span style="caret-color: rgb(118, 118, 118); font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><br /></span><span style="caret-color: rgb(118, 118, 118); font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">My Gangster moment at one time would have crushed my feelings and lowered my spirits, but in my dealings with mean co-workers and a hateful community and the unwelcomeness (like I never ever had experienced), I knew now this was not about "<b>me</b>" or anything I did or not do, it was all about their low self-esteem, short mindedness, rude and inconsiderate behavior. </span><br />
<span style="caret-color: rgb(118, 118, 118); font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="caret-color: rgb(118, 118, 118); font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Just prepare yourself and know that not everyone is going to like you, don't deter, be yourself, be true to yourself.</span><br />
<span style="caret-color: rgb(118, 118, 118); font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>

A<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"> coworker shared this recipe with me and I love that it is an easy pack for hiking.... He called them "Larry's Healthy Muffins"...</span></div>
<div style="font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; min-height: 14px;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I also add additional spices, feel free to personalize to your preference. Next time I may add orange or lemon zest. </span></div>
<div style="font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; min-height: 14px;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">With harvest here, these muffins pack nicely, don't need to be refrigerated and would be a great addition to a potluck, BBQ, camping and hiking.</span></div>
